eWare engaged in co-design with humans to develop a unified lifestyle monitoring system of apps and robots to reduce stress for people living with dementia and their informal carers. The Tessa flowerpot robot was able to monitor whether older adults performed activities that they had identified as goals, such as eating breakfast, and could provide spoken reminders if necessary. The formal and informal caregivers were then able to monitor their activities remotely through an integrated app. Thus it enhanced quality of life of the informal carer and person with dementia and supported communication and information between formal and informal carers.
